Man City close in on Loran
Manchester City expect to sign Dutch defender Tyrone Loran from FC by the end of this week.

The promising 20-year-old trained with the Blues last month and impressed manager Kevin Keegan.

"We had him here for three days and quite honestly were very impressed with him," Keegan told the club's website.

I can see why people have been comparing him to Frank Rijkaard

"I think he will be here next season, though the deal is not done and dusted yet.

"When someone like this comes along, and the deal is not big money, you say let's give him a chance.

"He will better us as a squad and we haven't got a young player like him."

Loran has been compared to Dutch legend Frank Rijkaard, and Keegan said he expected him to be pushing for a place in the City first-team within two years if he joins.

"He is a very strong player and I can see why people have been comparing him to Rijkaard," Keegan added.
