Trio in at Macclesfield
Macclesfield Town are set to complete the loan signing of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Darren Dunning.

A deal to bring striker Neil Ross from Stockport County is also close to being revived and Macclesfield are also giving a trial to Nuneaton Borough frontman Marc McGregor.

Town boss David Moss has been making strenuous efforts to strengthen his squad in a bid to pull clear from the bottom end of the Third Division.

And he expects to have 22-year-old Dunning, who has just completed a loan spell at Torquay, on board before Saturday's game against leaders Hartlepool United.

"He's a talented midfielder who played against us for Torquay. I was impressed with him on that day and I'll be delighted to bring him to Macclesfield, said Moss.

Meanwhile, Ross could finally make the switch to Moss Rose after dropping his personal demands.

The deal looked to have collapsed when Ross failed to agree terms with Macclesfield, but he has since contacted Moss to try and revive the move.

"He was devastated when it looked to have fallen through," Moss told his club's website.

"He realised that he had made a mistake and that his agent had jeopardised the transfer.

"My opinion of him as a player hasn't changed and I still think he has a lot to offer Macclesfield Town, but we cannot break the bank for any player."

McGregor, who has scored 24 goals in 53 Nationwide Conference starts for Nuneaton, is now training with the Silkmen.

And Moss hopes to get permission to include the 24-year-old in a couple of reserve games as he weighs up a move for the former Oxford United junior.
