Nick Owen makes claim for Luton Town double

Luton Town chairman Nick Owen has called on his club to complete a promotion and cup double this season.

The Hatters are through to the semi-finals of the FA Trophy and sit third in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

"Let's try and do both shall we?" the BBC Midlands Today presenter told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"We're just going to go for it and try to win every game for the rest of the season which will include winning the FA Trophy and automatic promotion."

Boss Richard Money has made it clear that a return to the Football League is his priority, and with a seven-point play-off cushion they are on course to be among the end of season contenders.

But interest in the FA Trophy, and a potential Wembley final, has been growing among supporters since Luton beat Guiseley in the quarter-finals at the weekend.

One way or the other it would be fantastic if it were Chasetown, but if it's Mansfield it will be a lot tougher on paper

"There's no question we are absolutely determined to go all the way in this competition," said Owen.

"It would do the club a lot of good in various ways and the players are really keen to do it."

Mansfield and Chasetown will play a quarter-final replay on Tuesday to decide who faces the Hatters in the two-legged semi-final.

And Owen says he would prefer to take on Evo-Stik Premier Division side Chasetown.

"They've got a very charismatic manager in Charlie Blakemore and they're a lovely club," he added.

"And also, of little interest perhaps, their stadium announcer is Paul Burrell who used to do that at Kenilworth Road.

"One way or the other it would be fantastic if it were Chasetown, but if it's Mansfield it will be a lot tougher on paper."
