Hatters promised new stadium
Kenilworth Road
Luton could be leaving Kenilworth Road
Luton will have a new 15,000-seater stadium within the next two years, according to Hatters chairman Mike Watson-Challis.

During a meeting with fans, Watson-Challis also said there is money available for manager Joe Kinnear to make new signings.

"Joe says I'm skint and that made me very cross! He is going to have money for another goalkeeper," he said.

"I have put 17 million into the football club and I'm prepared to go further. I want to walk up the steps of a new stadium before I die.

"If you cut me open you would see Luton, Luton, Luton all through me," he said on the club's official website.

The 15m stadium will be situated on junction 10 of the M1, with room to increase capacity to 25,000.
