Kinnear: I'm the boss
Joe Kinnear
Kinnear is quick to mark out his territory
Joe Kinnear has confirmed himself as the new manager of Second Division Luton Town.

The former Wimbledon boss was unveiled as the struggling club's director of football on Wednesday, but he has insisted that he is also the Hatters' new manager replacing Lil Fuccillo.

I'm the manager, full stop. I'm in charge of anything to do with football

Fuccillo will help Kinnear pick the side for the trip to Northampton on Saturday but his long-term future at Kenilworth Road remains in doubt.

Kinnear has said he will be bringing in his own management team.

"I'm the manager, full stop. I'm in charge of anything to do with football," he said.

"Lil has not left the club. His role at the moment is helping me out, as everybody else is at the club.

"The bottom line is that Luton are in trouble and they've come to me to get them out of trouble and, as from Monday, I will be tested to the full and I'm 100% confident I can do it."

Funds available

Kinnear has been promised funds to dip straight into the transfer market to save Luton - currently seven points adrift of safety - from relegation.

"Money will be made available for me to build the club," confirmed Kinnear.

"Funds are available and so I've got to go and talk to players and convince them that this is the club for them and that the club has a future.

"I'm hoping to get a big response from the players as there's a lot of talented players here."
