Livingston's Almondvale ground has been renamed the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium after the Second Division club struck a three-year naming rights deal.

The deal with the West Lothian firm, which runs until the end of the 2012-13 season, will generate a five-figure sum for the club.

Livingston director Charles Burnett said it was a welcome boost.

"We're delighted that they have chosen to strengthen their association with us through this new sponsorship," he said.

Braidwood's Neil Hogarth, a keen Livingston supporter, said: "We're very pleased to be putting our name to a stadium we have enjoyed visiting on many occasions in the past."

Newcastle United courted controversy among the club's supporters last season when they changed the name of St James' Park to @ St James' Park Stadium until the end of the campaign.

It was used to showcase the retail company controlled by club owner Mike Ashley.
