Livingston rejected transfer deadline day offers for Murray Davidson, Leigh Griffiths and captain James McPake.

Chairman Angelo Massone said bids from SPL and English clubs were rejected as Livingston wanted to keep to keep their top players at Almondvale.

"These players are some of our best players and we do not wish to sell them," Massone told the club website.

"We want to build a team here that will compete to win the league championship and get promoted to the SPL."

Roberto Landi's side currently sit top of Division One following four wins from their opening five matches.

Striker Griffiths has scored five goals so far this season while midfielder Davidson has netted once.

McPake, who also operates in midfield, has previously been linked with a move to St Mirren.

"We have already turned down money for McPake and David Mackay earlier in the season," added Massone.

"We are not a selling club and we want to build a team for the future. The bids have been rejected and now the transfer window will close and we can concentrate on the football."
