The Dutchman scored from the penalty spot in the Netherlands' 5-0 victory over San Marino in their opening Group E match on Friday.
He also scored for his club side this season in the 2-1 win at Trabzonspor as the Merseysiders sealed their place in the group stage of the Europa League.
Kuyt had been linked with a move to Inter Milan, managed by former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, but after the game against Trabzonspor the forward
pledged his future to the Reds.
Kuyt is set to miss Liverpool's games against Birmingham, Manchester United and Sunderland in the Premier League as well as the Carling Cup third-round tie at home to Northampton and the Europa League Group K opener against Steaua Bucharest.
