We cannot be complacent - Hyypia

Sami Hyypia
Hyypia is not taking the Reds' upcoming fixtures lightly

Liverpool veteran centre-back Sami Hyypia believes his team must not become complacent in their next three Premier League fixtures.

The Reds face West Ham and Hull at Anfield and travel to Blackburn.

Hyypia told BBC Radio Merseyside: "These coming games can be very dangerous. We can't let our attitude and work rate slip at all.

The Finland international added: "We need to give 100% to every game otherwise it will be very difficult."

The 35-year-old has found first-team action difficult to come by this season due to the form of Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Jamie Carragher.

And Hyypia was left out of Rafa Benitez's initial Champions League squad for the 2008-09 campaign.

But he did play in the wins against Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers and has relished his opportunities to play when they have arrived.

"It keeps me happy for a while and it's nice when you win.

"That's what I'm here for and when the manager puts me on the pitch I'll try to do my best," said Hyypia.
