Liverpool owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks in happier times
George Gillett has told a Canadian radio station that communication between himself and Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has 'substantially improved'.
The two men have barely been on speaking terms following a very public falling out earlier this year.
"Communication between the Hicks's and Gilletts has been substantially improved," Gillett told The Fan 590.
"I believe it will be for the benefit of the club. We both realised we weren't communicating well."
Neither man has spoken publicly on the reasons being their falling out, but speculation has been rife.
Since taking charge. Liverpool's proposed new stadium has had two re-designs and the loans the men took out to purchase the club have had to be refinanced.
In addition there has been continued speculation that Dubai International Capital, who tried to buy Liverpool before Gillett and Hicks took control, remain interested in buying out either one or both of them.
The Canadian businessman stressed that a thaw in relations between himself and the Texan billionaire can only benefit the club.
Gillett acknowledges: "The huge responsibility we have for the fans and to do the right thing for the club.
"I believe the Hicks's are communicating better with us and we're communicating better with them.
