Liverpool defenders John Arne Riise and Jamie Carragher have both been ruled out for two weeks because of injury.
Riise was replaced by new signing Mark Gonzalez
Left-back Riise sprained a medial ligament in an ankle in the first half of Saturday's draw at Sheffield United.
Centre-half Carragher limped off after 35 minutes against the Blades and has torn the lateral ligaments in an ankle.
The duo will miss Tuesday's Champions League qualifier against Israeli side Maccabi Haifa, with Liverpool leading 2-1 from the first leg at Anfield.
