Real Betis coach Llorenc Serra Ferrer has denied that his club to have tried to sign Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle on loan.
On Thursday, reports suggested the Spanish club wanted the striker as well as ex-Spurs forward Helder Postiga.
"They have been offered to the club but I don't believe they are players we need at the moment," Serra Ferrer said.
The 21-year-old striker has scored just seven goals for the Anfield outfit since arriving from Le Havre in 2002.
But Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has also denied that Sinama-Pongolle is on the move.
"I have read some of the rumours in the Spanish press and I have to say it is not true," he said.
Betis' top scorer Ricardo Oliveira was injured against Chelsea in December and the Spanish club are keen to find some cover.
Sinama-Pongolle's only goal this season came against Betis in Liverpool's 2-1 Champions League group win in September.
