Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez was understandably delighted after Neil Mellor's injury-time goal sealed victory over Arsenal.
"We worked very hard against a very good team and it's fantastic," he said.
"I think we were almost perfect in the first half - with and without the ball. In the second half, we were a little tired and they played very well.
"We knew it would be difficult not to concede a goal but at the end of the game, I think it was a fair result."
Mellor's fabulous winner was the 22-year-old's first goal for Liverpool in league football but Benitez said he did not expect the striker to get carried away.
"He needs to build on today," added the Anfield boss.
"Sometimes you score, sometimes you don't but as long as you work hard that's the most important thing."
