Smicer set for new deal
Smicer looks set to stay at Anfield until 2006
Czech international Vladimir Smicer has been offered a new three-year contract by Liverpool.
Smicer, who cost Liverpool £4.2m from RC Lens in 1999, still has one year remaining on his existing deal.
The 29-year-old midfielder is expected to agree the new terms when he reports back for pre-season training next week. Smicer made 22 Premiership appearances last season and scored four times, including the winner against Chelsea which helped Gerard Houllier's side finish second.
