Back to business for Kop stars
Gerard Houllier
The celebrations are on hold for Liverpool
Gerard Houllier is giving his Liverpool stars little respite following their FA Cup triumph over Arsenal.

Liverpool face Alaves in the Uefa Cup final on Wednesday before trying to secure a Champions League place when they meet Charlton in their last Premiership outing of the season.

And with these two games coming up, Houllier has put a hold to any FA Cup celebrations.

"We've got to be professional, that's what our job is about and so the celebration will be so limited that it will be restricted to nothing," Houllier said.

People talk about the goal against Argentina but we never won anything in the World Cup

"We'll have a meal but no alcohol at all."

Liverpool fly out to Dortmund in Germany for the Uefa Cup showpiece aiming to complete a cup treble.

But Houllier and his team maintain that a Champions League place is still a main priority.

Houllier added: "We had a chat before the game and we said whatever the result we've got to take into consideration the next game.

"Then again whatever happens against Alaves, we'll focus immediately on the next game against Charlton. It's a massive game."

Liverpool's two goal FA Cup hero Michael Owen added: "We have to concentrate on Wednesday now - and beating Alaves - before looking ahead to the game against Charlton as we really want to get into the Champions League."

England striker Owen burst onto the world scene when he scored against Argentina during France 98.

He added: "People talk about the goal against Argentina but we never won anything in the World Cup and that goal didn't actually get us anywhere.

"It's a great achievement for the players and staff to win the FA Cup. We've had a great run lately and winning breeds more winning."
