Imps target experienced players

Lincoln City caretaker manager Simon Clark says any loan signings made by the Imps will be experienced players.

He confirmed that the Imps had targeted players from Norwich and Ipswich, thought to include Ipswich's Colin Healy and the Canaries' Paul McVeigh.

Clark told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "When we look at players they must be 26-plus and played a lot of games, but hungry to play, with a point to prove.

"They have to be right for us and in the right frame of mind to play."

Referring to ex-England defender Sol Campbell who left Notts County after playing just one match in League Two, Clark added: "The mental aspect is just as vital as what they do technically.

"You can have a great player with a great history - someone like Sol Campbell.

"But if he's not prepared to play and knuckle down to what we want to do, there's no point in bringing them in."
