Lincoln signed N'Guessan from Rangers in January 2007
Lincoln City vice chairman Bob Dorrian has said a compensation deal for Dany N'Guessan may be agreed soon.
Leicester City are favourites to sign the 21-year-old French forward, who is out of contract this summer.
With Football League chairmen meeting this week, Dorrian told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I think a lot of things can get done in Portugal.
"The Leicester chief executive is there and it may get done over a couple of pints, you never know."
Under the Bosman ruling the Imps are entitled to compensation as N'Guessan is under 24 years of age.
A string of clubs including Sheffield United, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich have been linked with N'Guessan but Leicester are believed to be in pole position to sign him.
