Elding moved to Crewe in the summer of 2008 from Leeds United
Crewe Alexandra striker Anthony Elding has joined League Two club Lincoln City on a three-month loan.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Crewe from Leeds United in the summer for a six-figure fee, he has found himself out of favour in recent weeks.
But Crewe have inserted a 24-hour recall clause in Elding's contract, which will run until 4 April.
Elding made a total of 11 starts for Crewe, scoring once in the league and twice in the Carling Cup.
He began his career with his hometown side, and Imps' county rivals, Boston United and had two spells with the Pilgrims before joining Stockport, where his record of 26 goals in 52 starts earned him a move to Elland Road.
Lincoln manager Peter Jackson told the club website: "Anthony's career has stood still at Leeds and Crewe and I'm hoping he can get himself back on track here at Lincoln City."
