Aaron Brown played for the Imps in a trial game last season
Lincoln have completed the signing of Gillingham full-back Aaron Brown on a one-year deal after he had his contract at Priestfield terminated.
Brown, 28, who was on the transfer list, has worked under Imps assistant Iffy Onuora at Swindon and Gillingham.
"When you haven't been playing much it's difficult to get a club," he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.
"I was a bit down, not training with the first team so it felt like a mental struggle but it makes you stronger."
Brown, whose career began at Bristol City, has also had spells at QPR, Torquay, Cheltenham Town and Swindon.
Whilst at Swindon he linked up with Onuora, who was in charge at the County Ground at the time, and then followed him to Gillingham in 2007 before being transfer-listed by new manager Mark Stimson in January.
