Ex-Lincoln chairman Reames dies

Reames was Imps chairman for 15 years

The former Lincoln City chairman and manager John Reames has died aged 65 after losing his battle with cancer.

Reames was the longest serving chairman in the club's history, holding the post from March 1985 until his resignation in November 2000.

He also managed the Imps from November 1998 to the end of the 1999-2000 season before being succeeded by Phil Stant.

Current chairman Steff Wright said: "He had an absolute passion for the club and was a genuine fan of Lincoln City."
