Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade singled out goalkeeper Jamie Jones for special praise after his side's 2-1 victory over Swansea in the FA Cup.

Slade believes that Jones, 21, is good enough to play in the Premier League.

"I was pleased with his performance and he made some good saves. Jamie is made of the right stuff," said Slade.

"Like a lot of players he lost his opportunity in the top flight and has been given a chance. I really think he can play at the highest level."

Jimmy Smith headed the League One side ahead in the 35th minute at the Liberty Stadium, but the Swans levelled on the stroke of half-time through Cedric van der Gun.

Orient secured an impressive win when Swansea defender Alan Tate diverted a cross from Paul-Jose M'Poku into his own net, but Jones stole the show with several accomplished saves.

Slade thought that Jones, who joined the club from Everton in 2008, can build on his impressive display against Swansea.

"It was a good defensive display and I knew before the game that Jamie was going to have to make saves," the Orient boss added.

"Players like Jamie are important to League One clubs because we can re-launch their careers and push them on to become Championship or even Premier League players again.

"He has worked hard at his game to come back. He has now played almost 70 games for the club at the age of 21."
