Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling admitted he was about to substitute Adam Boyd just before the striker scored the only goal against Bournemouth.
"The sheets had already gone into the fourth official to bring him off," Ling said after the 1-0 win which kept the O's on top of League One.
"But sometimes it's better to be a lucky manager than a good one.
"Adam's a goalscorer - he didn't have the best of afternoons, but when he was called on to do his job, he delivered."
