Lewes defender Anthony Barness has signed a new one-year contract ahead of their first ever season in the Blue Square Premier.

The former Middlesbrough Charlton and Chelsea player, 35, was part of the side which won the title last season.

He is the only player from that team still at the Dripping Pan as the rest of the squad left following the departure of manager Steve King.

Barness finally put pen to paper after two weeks' training.
