Sol Bamba buoyed by Leicester City FA Cup display

Sol Bamba celebrates
Bamba's first touch in a Leicester shirt was a goal

Leicester City defender Sol Bamba says his side can take great confidence from their 2-2 FA Cup draw with Premier League high-flyers Manchester City.

The Foxes held City at the Walkers Stadium to earn a third-round replay at Eastlands on Tuesday, 18 January.

And new signing Bamba, who scored with his first touch on his debut for the club, told BBC Radio Leicester: "It will be a great game again.

"We have nothing to lose. We need to go there and play like we did here."

He added: "We deserved to get a draw and could have won. It was a very good result. We passed the ball very well and came back well.

"We have mixed feelings because we could have won but they are a top team, so overall we are happy to come back from 2-1 down and get a draw."

Bamba, who signed from Hibernian at the start of January, tuned in a man-of-the-match display - including the opening goal inside a minute.

"It was my first touch and was incredible and I couldn't ask for any more," Bamba added. "I'm happy to score but the performance of the team is all that mattered."

And Bamba believes there is every chance he will add to his first Leicester goal in the coming weeks and months.

"I got some very good balls in the box so it was very easy to jump and head the ball," Bamba said.

"Set-pieces are very important and if we keep getting good balls then I hope to score a couple of goals this season.

"I'm happy but it is just one game and to be top player and to be a top squad we need to play like that week in week out and that's what we will be trying to do."
