Call-up down to Foxes - Cleverley

Leicester City's on-loan midfielder Tom Cleverley says his first international call-up was helped by his move to the Foxes from Manchester United.

The 19-year-old said he did not think he would have been included in the England under-20 squad if he was still playing reserve football at United.

Cleverley told BBC Radio Leicester: "There's 20,000 people coming to the matches and a lot of scouts.

"You're in the limelight in League One, especially as we're top of the league.

Cleverley added: "Everyone's watching a big club like Leicester, so I wouldn't have got the recognition if I was still in the reserves."

The teenager also said his game had become more physical since his move to the Walkers Stadium.

"It's adding to my game experience and it's toughening me up a little bit as well playing against men.

"I'm getting to grips with League One and adapting to some challenges and giving some challenges out."

It's what every boy dreams of to represent their country

The England under-20s are due to play Italy later in the month.

Cleverley said: "It's my first call-up for England, so it's nice to see someone's watching and seeing what I'm achieving.

"It's what every boy dreams of to represent their country."

League One leaders Leicester face Colchester at home on Saturday.
