Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has said his team will win their promotion fight despite Wednesday's defeat to Tranmere Rovers.

The Foxes lost 2-0 at Prenton Park, ending their 23-match unbeaten run.

Pearson told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's a missed opportunity but we'll move on. I'm not worried about form.

"It's important we keep doing the things that got us in the position we're in, I'm confident we'll see the job through."

Pearson added: "I'm disappointed that our run has come to an end, I don't like losing games and we've not lost too many this year.

"We did look dangerous at times but there's no sour grapes from me at all - my players have worked tremendously hard this year and done very well."

City, who face Milwall on Saturday, are nine points clear of second placed Peterborough in League One.
