Mandaric praises Pearson's work

Mandaric wants to see Leicester in the top flight of English football

Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric has praised manager Nigel Pearson for getting the Foxes nine points clear at the top of League One.

Mandaric told BBC Radio 5 Live: "He's done a tremendous job with a good bunch of players but there are still plenty of games to go.

"It's not only going up to the Championship but we're looking to take this club as far as we can."

Leicester face Brighton in the league on Tuesday.

Mandaric added: "The club deserves to go up. Leicester people love their club - look at how supportive they were in the difficult time when we went down and needed their support.

"I told them at the beginning of the season that if we're successful one of the reasons would be their support."
