Leicester manager Micky Adams has bolstered his squad by signing goalkeeper Danny Coyne from
Grimsby on a free transfer.
Coyne joined Grimsby in 1999
Coyne is the Foxes fourth signing of the summer after the arrival of Steve Howey, Paul Brooker and Riccardo Scimeca as boss Micky Adams assembles a squad ready for the forthcoming Premiership campaign.
The Wales international, who is thought to have signed a two-year deal, met his new team-mates for the first time when the squad reported back for pre-season training on Thursday morning.
"We've improved the competition for places in the
goalkeeping position which needed to be done," Adams told the Leicester Mercury newspaper.
"Ian Walker is the number one choice at the moment and it is up to Danny to
put pressure on him for his place."
Coyne has won two caps for Wales and was linked with moves to Burnley and
Coventry before Leicester stepped in.
The Foxes are also close to signing French midfielder Lilian Nalis from
Italian club Chievo.
