Izzet withdraws transfer request
Leicester City midfielder Muzzy Izzet
Izzet wants to stay with Premiership-bound Leicester
Muzzy Izzet has withdrawn his transfer request at Leicester City as the Foxes head for a swift return to the Premiership.

The 28-year-old handed in the transfer request during the autumn of 2001 and the Foxes were relegated later that season from the Premiership.

But now the Turkish international appears happy to stay at the club, who are second in the First Division.

Izzet admitted it was a relief to not be up for sale any longer and said he could now focus all his attention on securing promotion.

"It's great to come off the transfer list after all this time," he told the club's official website.

"I'm really enjoying my football at the moment and I went to see Micky Adams first thing on Thursday to ask him to remove my name from the list.

"Although I've been on the transfer list for some considerable time, I think everyone recognises I've continued to give 100% to the cause.

"My decision allows me to concentrate fully on the important games ahead of us."
