Benjamin in Palace switch
Leicester striker Trevor Benjamin
Benjamin: Limited first-team opportunities at Leicester
Trevor Benjamin has joined Crystal Palace on a one-month loan from Premiership club Leicester.

The 22-year-old has yet to score for the Foxes this season and his first-team chances have been limited since Brian Deane's arrival at Filbert Street.

But Palace boss Trevor Francis thinks Benjamin can take the pressure off his first-choice strikers Clinton Morrison and Dougie Freedman.

The pair are out of form and the Eagles have won just once in seven matches.

"Trevor gives us a different option. We need a player of his size and physical presence," Francis said.

Benjamin will go straight into the Palace squad to face Nottingham Forest on Thursday.

Leicester manager Dave Bassett had said he was unsure whether to loan Benjamin out or not.

"I am torn because it would be good experience for him but we might need him over the Christmas period when the games come thick and fast," Bassett said.
