Izzet in no rush
Izzet could remain at Leicester until summer
Leicester City's transfer-listed midfielder Muzzy Izzet has insisted he is in no rush to leave Filbert Street.
The Turkish international also said he would happy to wait until the end of the season for his move away from the Foxes. Izzet looked set for a switch to Aston Villa but John Gregory could not raise the asking price of £8m. "Is the Villa thing a blow to me? No, I didn't go on the list to specifically go to Aston Villa or any other club," Izzet said on Monday. "If it stays like this to the end of the season, I am happy. "There is no problem there - I am 100% behind the team and I am not just going to leave for the sake of leaving.
"I didn't go on the list thinking someone was lined up. "I wanted to do it and I am not going to say I'm not going to be interested in other clubs. "But if it doesn't happen to the end of the season I will still give everything for Leicester as you can see from the games against Blackburn and Sunderland. "I've been here for six years and this club will always be part of me whatever happens. "I've had too many good times here not to feel part of it. "In any case at this moment in time, with the way we are playing now, things are looking better." When Izzet first went on the transfer list it looked probable that he would become a Villa player sooner rather than later.
But after one week there had been no bid from Villa Park and Izzet's agent Jonathan Barnett said: "Maybe the Villa board don't want him". Villa's Turkish defender Alpay has already urged the board to sign his international team-mate. "I don't know what the boss (Gregory) or chairman (Doug Ellis) want - but I'd love to have him here at Aston Villa. "I don't know if he is a player we want, but I do know that Muzzy is a very good player and also a very good man away from the pitch", Alpay said. Leicester boss Dave Bassett has left the door open for Izzet to change his mind. The new Foxes manager said: "I would love Muzzy to stay, but I've always found it best to let a player get on with his life while you get on with yours".
