Leeds United sign Aston Villa right-back Lichaj on loan
Lichaj made his Premier League debut in the 2-1 win over West Brom
Leeds United have signed Aston Villa right-back Eric Lichaj on a one-month loan deal.
The USA international has made eight appearances for Villa this season.
Leeds manager Simon Grayson told the club website: "He is a player that they have high hopes for and they believe him coming to Leeds will be beneficial for him and us."
Lichaj has been brought in as cover for Paul Connolly, who picked up an injury at the weekend.
Subject to his paperwork being processed, the 22-year-old should be in the squad for Saturday's trip to Bristol City.
"A few other Championship clubs were interested so we are delighted to get a player that has played international football at different levels," Grayson added.
Lichaj made his international debut for the USA as a substitute in their 0-0 draw with Colombia in October. Last season he had loan spells at Lincoln City and Leyton Orient, where he scored his first professional goal.
His last appearance in this campaign came in Villa's 4-0 Premier League defeat at Manchester City at the end of December. Lichaj signed a new three-year deal at Villa in August.
