Leeds boss Dennis Wise was pleased with a morale-boosting win after they came from behind to win 2-1 at Tranmere on the opening day of the season.
The Yorkshire side were deducted 15 points for a breach of the Football League's insolvency rules.
"We did not play well in the first half but we managed to sort a few things
out during the interval," Wise said.
"It was so important to get off to a winning start but there is a long way to go - we are still on minus 12."
