Stone takes retirement decision
Steve Stone
Stone signed for Leeds in June 2005
Leeds United midfielder Steve Stone has retired after his Elland Road contract was terminated by mutual consent.

The 35-year-old midfielder made only 15 appearances for Leeds after arriving in the summer of 2005 as he suffered a series of injuries.

The former England international told BBC Radio Leeds: "It's an amicable settlement and I'm looking forward to concentrating on my media interests."

Stone was capped nine times for England during a career that spanned 17 years.

The midfielder played more than 200 times for Nottingham Forest after making his debut in 1989.

He joined Aston Villa in a 5.5m move in 1999, before signing for Portsmouth in 2002.
