Leeds complete Domi deal

Leeds have completed the loan signing of Paris St Germain defender Didier Domi.

The 25-year-old has joined on a 12-month loan deal and Leeds will then have exclusive rights to buy him at the end of the loan for a price believed to be about £2m, according to BBC Radio Leeds.

His medical was finally completed on Tuesday after he agreed personal terms.

Domi spent two seasons with Newcastle, but returned to former club PSG in 2001 following reports that he was unhappy at failing to gain a regular first-team place.

Versatility is a good word when it comes to football and Didier will certainly give us that

Domi is under contract with PSG until June 2006, but does not figure in the plans of new coach Vahid Halilhodzic, and is hoping to revive his career in the Premiership.

The former France Under-21 international can play at left-back or left midfield.

"There were a few loose ends that needed finalising in terms of his medical," said Leeds boss Peter Reid.

"But the talks went great and we've been able to move the deal forward quite quickly.

"But versatility is a good word when it comes to football and Didier will certainly give us that.

"He can play at left-back or left midfield but let's get him in and get him settled before we start deciding where he's going to play for us."

Domi becomes Reid's third signing following the capture of Jody Morris and fellow Frenchman Zoumana Camara earlier this summer.
