Kilmarnock have signed Finnish goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola subject to international clearance.

The 23-year-old has agreed to join on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague.

Club secretary Kirsten Callaghan told BBC Scotland: "Once we get Anssi's paperwork through we'll be able to complete his transfer."

Fellow keeper Cammy Bell has also been offered a new long-term deal, which it is understood he has agreed to sign.

Bell gained full international honours with Scotland when he came on as a substitute against the Faroe Islands in a 3-0 win at Pittodrie in November.

The addition of Finnish under-21 international Jaakkola means the Ayrshire club now have four goalkeepers including Bell, Kyle Letheren and Alan Combe.

It is the second time manager Mixu Paatelainen has used contacts in his homeland to bring players to Rugby Park.

In the summer transfer window, Finnish international Alexei Eremenko joined on loan from Ukrainian club Metalist Kharkiv.
