Calderwood comfort from fate being in Killie's hands

Kilmarnock manager Jimmy Calderwood remained upbeat after his side's 2-1 home defeat by St Johnstone.

The result leaves them above bottom-placed Falkirk on goal difference with two games of the campaign to play.

"I usually go mad after a defeat but today I was more disappointed than anything because I think they gave everything," said the Rugby Park boss.

"We're not getting the breaks but we know that everything is in our own hands and we will see what happens."

Kilmarnock travel to Aberdeen in midweek while Falkirk host St Johnstone before the two bottom sides play each other in what is likely to be a relegation decider next Saturday.

"I thought we dominated the first half today completely and we got a brave goal," added Calderwood.

"Young Craig Bryson has broken his nose to allow Frazer Wright to score.

"They got a break one minute before half-time with a goal and they got a massive lift from that but we've got our best player off with a broken nose.

"The goals that they got were too easy."
