Kilmarnock defender Tim Clancy is struggling to be fit for the start of next season after undergoing surgery for a broken leg.

The 23-year-old, previously with Weymouth, ruptured ankle ligaments and suffered a splintered bone during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Gretna.

The Irishman was having two screws inserted to help the bone heal.

And Kilmarnock manager Jefferies doubts that the defender will return in time for pre-season training.
