Naismith collects monthly award
Steven Naismith with his third Bank of Scotland award
Steven Naismith has scored 12 goals this season
Kilmarnock striker Steven Naismith has been named Bank of Scotland player of the month.

The 19-year-old, who has already won the young player award twice this season, said: "When I got the phone call, I thought they'd made a mistake.

"At the start of the month, I was banned for the Dunfermline game. I just hoped to be selected the next week.

"Thankfully I was and I have scored a few goals recently so that has probably helped my case."

Naismith, who recently signed a contract extension which will keep him at Rugby Park until 2010, scored three goals in March - taking his season's tally to 12.
