Kidderminster boss releases seven

Adam Bartlett
England C international Bartlett will leave Harriers this summer

Kidderminster Harriers manager Mark Yates has released seven players with only four of his squad being offered new contracts.

Martin Riley, Matthew Barnes-Homer, Brian Smikle and Sam Foley have all been presented with new deals.

But goalkeeper Adam Bartlett, defenders Keith Lowe and Luke Jones and midfielders Craig Armstrong and Martin Brittain have been told they can leave.

Strikers Justin Richards and Chris McPhee have also been released.

Yates told the club's website that finances will play a big part in his 2009/10 squad.

"In the best of scenarios there are a few others we would've liked to have kept," he said.

"We aren't in a position to be able to offer some of those boys new deals, but all of the decisions we've taken are in the best interests of the club.

"I'd like to thank all of the players for their efforts throughout the season, they are a fantastic bunch who gave everything and we wish them all well for their future careers."

Centre-back Jones has already found a new club, Harriers' Blue Square Premier rivals Mansfield Town.
