Beardsley heads back to Harriers

Kidderminster Harriers have signed Kettering Town striker Chris Beardsley on a month's loan.

Harriers manager Mark Yates told BBC Hereford & Worcester he was delighted to have brought Beardsley to Aggborough for a second loan spell.

"I've known Chris for a while and he'll bring us good competition for places in a very busy period," he said.

"He's a good forward, he can hold the ball up well and he knows how to score goals," added Yates.

Beardsley was last at Aggborough during the 2004/05 season, at the end of which Harriers were relegated from the Football League.

It leaves us with all bases covered and we're delighted to have him on board

He scored five goals in 25 appearances during that campaign, but opted to remain in the Football League by moving to Mansfield Town.

Since then he has had spells at Rushden and Diamonds and York City before joining Kettering last season and helping them win the Blue Square North title.

Yates says competition in the Kidderminster squad is crucial if they are to challenge for promotion from the Blue Square Premier this season.

"[Beardsley's signing] leaves us with all bases covered and we're delighted to have him on board," he said.
