Kettering re-sign defender Luke Graham

Kettering Town

Defender Luke Graham has joined Kettering for a second spell after deciding to leave York City.

The 24-year-old, who first played for the Poppies between 2006 and 2009, has signed a two-year deal with the option of a one-year extension.

He said: "It's great to be back with my hometown team and I hope I can help push them one place higher.

"York offered me a two year contract, but being closer to my home and to my family were important factors."

The centre-back played seven Blue Square Bet Premier games for Mansfield this season before joining York on loan in November.

That switch became permanent in January and Graham played 31 times and scored once for the Minstermen.

After a loan spell at Rockingham Road in 2005, he joined the Poppies permanently from neighbours Northampton in July 2006 and made six appearances in three years before heading to the Stags.

Poppies boss Lee Harper looks set to have a strength in depth at the centre of defence with Ian Roper and John Dempster already at the club and Wrexham's Ashley Westwood in talks regarding a switch.
