Kettering Town manager Mark Cooper was unhappy with his side's performance as they needed a late Moses Ashikodi goal to draw 1-1 with Redditch.
The Poppies will travel to the Valley Stadium for a replay of the FA Cup fourth qualifying round on Tuesday.
Cooper told BBC Radio Northampton: "We haven't played fantastically well. I've let [them] know it's not acceptable.
"They have to look at themselves and give everything they've got. We'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again."
Redditch took the lead through midfielder James Dance in the first half and Kettering needed an injury-time equaliser from Ashikodi to keep them in the Cup.
"It shows me I can't mess about with my squad," Cooper said.
"I had injuries to John Dempster and Moses Ashikodi and I thought we'd have enough desire to get through without bringing them on."
