Cooper guided the Poppies to the Conference North title last season
Kettering chairman Imraan Ladak says he would not welcome an approach from Cambridge United for boss Mark Cooper.
Cooper has a year to run on his current contract at the Elgood's Arena and has been linked with the U's following Gary Brabin's sacking on Monday.
Ladak told Cambridge News Online: "We are really pleased with the team Mark is building for this year.
"You always have to move quickly when you are without a manager and I certainly haven't heard from anyone."
Meanwhile, Ladak confirmed that a fee has been agreed with Torquay United for Guy Branston.
"You never want to lose your captain but obviously we're not a club that restricts a player if they get the opportunity to play in the Football League", he said.
"There was a compensation figure, which Guy was aware of, and that has now been met. It is now a case of agreeing personal terms".
