Poppies bring in Silkmen defender

James Jennings
Jennings started 14 games in over three years for Macclesfield

Kettering Town have completed the signing of defender James Jennings from Macclesfield Town.

The 21-year-old had been with the Silkmen his entire career to date and was recently offered a new contract at the League Two club.

"He is a left-footed player and can play as a left-back or on the left side of midfield," said Kettering manager Mark Cooper.

"We are looking for versatile players and James is definitely one of those."

Jennings experienced Blue Square Premier football during a loan spell with Altrincham in the 2007-08 campaign.
