Kieron Dyer signs for Ipswich Town on one-month loan

West Ham midfielder Kieron Dyer has signed for Ipswich Town on a one-month loan, returning to the club where he started his career.

The 32-year-old made 117 appearances for the Tractor Boys after graduating from their youth system in 1996.

Former Ipswich player John Wark told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I think it's a great signing but the only thing you worry about is his fitness.

"He's got great ability and if he's at it he'll be a great investment."

After an eight-year spell at Newcastle United, Dyer has made just 33 appearances for the Hammers since signing in August 2007.

Wark said that the former England international was one of the best players Ipswich had ever produced.

"When he first came through he could be what he wanted.

"[He could] play in the Premiership or play for England but injuries got the better of him but when he's on his game he is a top player."

Dyer will go straight into the squad for Ipswich's trip to Leeds this weekend.
