Transfer leaks disappoint Ipswich Town boss Paul Jewell

Ipswich manager Paul Jewell says he is disappointed at how some January transfer deals involving the Blues were leaked by other clubs.

Portsmouth and Crystal Palace made bids for David Norris public, with the Eagles also vying for Damien Delaney.

Preston said they rejected a Town offer for Sean St Ledger and Hull revealed details of Jimmy Bullard's loan move.

"It's unnecessary," Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk. "It's not the way I do business, but it's their prerogative."

He added: "Sometimes they're doing it to unsettle the players, sometimes to try and appease their own fans.

"It's a bit unfortunate, I don't particularly like it but I'm a big boy, it's not going to change my life."

Jewell has also been dealt a blow by the news that midfielder Alan Quinn faces further time on the sidelines.

The 31-year-old Irishman, who has not played all season because of a groin problem, is set to be out for up to another four weeks after undergoing surgery on the injury.

Meanwhile, winger Andy Drury said he is keen to grasp his opportunity in the Football League following his arrival from Luton Town.

"You never know in football, you hope for a chance, but it's not come until I'm 27 and I'm looking to grab it with both hands," said Drury.

"I've still got a few years left to establish myself at this level and hopefully help them kick on and maybe into the Premier League.

"I haven't come here to sit about in the reserves, I want to play as soon as possible.

"It's going to be hard to get into the team but it's a good challenge."
