Ipswich Town captain David Norris insists he is not nervous about the lack of talks over a new contract.

The 29-year-old's deal expires at the end of the current campaign and has yet to be offered new terms.

He told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I haven't heard anything yet. I'm sure when the time's right if the club feel I deserve a new contract hopefully I'll get one.

"I don't like getting involved in those kind of things anyway. I'm sure they'll take care of themselves."

He added: "I enjoy it here. I'm happy here. It's been a good move for me."

Town boss Roy Keane handed the midfielder the captain's arm band after the departure of Jon Walters to Stoke in August.

I'm not going to go out there and start shouting at everyone, I think I'll tend to lead by example

It is a role the former Plymouth man, who has made 86 appearances since arriving at Portman Road in 2008, has settled into well.

"Off the pitch there are more responsibilities but I'm enjoying. It's hard to explain the feeling, but it's a nice feeling," he said.

"I'm not going to go out there and start shouting at everyone, I think I'll tend to lead by example.

"I've tried not to change too much on the pitch. I'm a little bit more vocal but it's same as really."
