Schoolboy could make Ipswich bow

Connor Wickham
Wickham has scored eight goals in his last four games for Town's Under-18s

Connor Wickham will become Ipswich's youngest player if he features in Saturday's home game against Doncaster.

The striker who will be 16 years and 11 days old on Saturday has been recalled from England Under-16 duty and is now training with the Town first team.

Manager Jim Magilton told the club website: "I wouldn't have taken him off international duty if he wasn't in my thoughts for the weekend."

Jason Dozzell is currently the youngest Ipswich debutant.

Dozzell made his debut in February 1984 at the age of 16 years and 57 days.
