Supple keen on another loan deal

Shane Supple
Supple has yet to make a league appearance this season

Ipswich Town's second choice goalkeeper Shane Supple is hoping to go out on loan again to gain more experience.

The 21-year-old told BBC Radio Suffolk: "Every player wants to play games and I'm no different.

"The gaffer's gone for a lot more experience this season and Richard [Wright] has come in and done very well so I can't really complain."

Supple - who made his debut under Joe Royle when he was just 18 - spent four months on loan at Falkirk last season.

He made just four appearances for the Scottish Premier League club and has admitted he would need to be playing more often if he moves again.

He said: "If I go [out on loan again] I'm going to have to be guaranteed to play otherwise I'm not going."

Although disappointed at being on the bench at Ipswich Supple has no desire to leave permanently.

He added: "I love this club, I've been here a long time and I'd love to stay here.

"I want to be in the first team and be number one and achieve things with this club and hopefully get us back to the Premier League."

Supple said he plans to discuss the situation with manager Jim Magilton.

He also admitted he has sympathy for young players who just drift out of the game.

"It's very difficult in these times especially when there's so much money about young lads aren't really given the chance," he said.

"This club is a little bit different, you're given your chance, they depend on the young lads coming through and they've always had a good system.

"A lot of lads have dipped out of the game, a lot of boys I played with have as well.

"Players who five or six years ago were the main men in youth teams are now nowhere to be seen."
